Travel Library Photographers' Awards and Exhibitions

Recent achievements in major photographic competitions and forthcoming exhibitions reflect the
high standard of work currently being produced by TTL photographers.

The prestigious ‘Landscape Photographer of the Year 2007’ has been awarded to Jon Gibbs for his strong atmospheric image ref 187716 of a storm over Scroby Sands wind farm in Norfolk, whilst Adam Burton image ref 185609 of a rock pool at Dunraven Bay South Glamorgan was highly commended.

Adam Burton was also the winner of the landscape category of the 2007 Wanderlust Travel Photographer of the year, a competition which TTL had previously had sponsorship arrangements with. Adam is a relatively newcomer and his winning dramatic seascape image ref 185644 taken at Lands End, along with his success in the landscape photographer of the year competition is establishing his position as a forthcoming eminent photographer in the UK.

David Noton’s passion for photography, travel and the world’s most beautiful places are the defining influences which have shaped his life, work and creative approach to photography. David has won international awards and is currently working on a new book ‘Waiting for the Light’ which highlights and celebrates much of his life’s work. It will be published this year and accompanied by a stunning exhibition of collectable fine art photographic prints at the OXO Gallery in London, March 14th-30th 2008.

Other photographers who have recently contributed fresh new photography of a similar style to our Library are Andrew Newey, Ben Pipe and Jan Wlodarczyk thus strengthening our position as a premium brand for outstanding images by some of today’s top landscape and travel photographers

Meet the Travel Library at the CEPIC Conference Malta

CEPIC is a European Economic Interest Group representing the interests of picture associations, agencies and libraries in Europe, in total 1,053 picture agencies and libraries in Europe.

In 2008 the CEPIC conference will be held in Malta from 4th- 8th June and TTL will be attending this major event in the European picture library calendar to build upon our distribution network and meet with our image trading partners within Europe.

The Travel Library has a special affinity with Malta; it was a set of images taken in Malta by Managing Director Philip Enticknap back in 1992 which formed the basis for TTL’s establishment. Philip worked on guidebooks for the AA, Assignments for ‘Malta This Month’ the in-flight magazine for Air Malta and brochures for many hotels on the island. Many of his Maltese contacts have been retained and occasionally local photographers based in Malta are contacted to shoot specific requirements for TTL clients. In fact Malta images from TTL were selected by CEPIC for promotional use on their conference website.

Philip quotes “I’m looking forward to re-visiting Malta along with Image Production Manager Chris Penn to make new contacts and see old friends. The Travel Library all started with Malta!”
